I’m an American/Dutch expat who moved to Belgium for love. I’ve been vegan since 2010, and started commuting to Belgium (from Amsterdam) around the same time, emigrating in 2013. I’m always on the lookout for vegan products in the supermarket, health food stores, vegan specialty stores, pretty much everywhere I go. I created this blog to share what I’ve found with other vegans in Belgium, whether you’re new to Belgium, new to veganism, or an old hand looking for new ideas.
Who I’m not: I’m not a health food vegan. I’m not afraid of sugar, soy, gluten, or carrageenan. As long as it’s free from animal products, I’m happy to try it!
When I’m not scrutinizing ingredient lists, you can find me selling books, watching nature documentaries with Mr. Vegan Stuff in Belgium, enjoying the birds that visit our yard, or playing with the kitty.
(A note on language: I’ll be writing in English, but because I’m living in Flanders, I’m more likely than not to use the Dutch names of products.)
