I’ve posted about a few pre-baked breads here before, but this one, made by Lidl’s house brand bakery, Maître Jean Pierre, really stood out. What makes this one different from the baguettes and rolls I’ve reviewed before is that this one is sourdough rather than yeast-based.
The crust is crispier and more complex and the inside is less doughy, and also has a more interesting flavor. Perhaps it’s because these are made in France, and the French know their bread, but this is really one of the best pre-baked breads I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be getting this again.
This should be available at any Lidl.
