I love this stuff. It’s hard to quantify how much I love it, but it’s a lot. Yes, I know, it’s not that hard to make good vegan gravy from scratch, but as I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m pretty lazy. With this, you just add some water, mix well, bring to the boil, and simmer for a couple of minutes, and you’ve got savory, brown, gravy goodness to pour over your instant mashed potatoes, your seitan steaks, and your green beans.
I used to buy this all the time at the Biomarkt in Amsterdam, but had never managed to find it in Belgium, so I did a little happy dance when I found it at VegAnne’s shop in Brussels. I hope other stores start to carry it, but in the meantime, I’ll be stocking up every time I get to Schaarbeek.
