Swing Fruit Gummies (Aldi)

swing vruchtengommeA few weeks ago I wrote about Swing Chocolate Orange Slices from the Aldi. Well, it looks like those aren’t the only accidentally-vegan goodies from Swing. These fruit gummies (some of which are also covered in chocolate) are also made with pectin instead of gelatine and all of the other ingredients seem to check out too!

Neither Mr. VSiB nor I were as taken with these as we were with the orange slices, but they’re not bad! Luckily I liked the flavors he didn’t and vice versa. But it’s always nice to have another vegan candy option out there!

Swing products are made exclusively for Aldi, so that’s where you’ll find these.

Nice! These are some of David’s favorite types of candies. In the Netherlands they almost always contain E120/carmine. In Germany we saw lots of vegan ones, lucky thing Belgium is more like Germany in this respect. 😉

That’s too bad about the carmine. 😦 These are colored with fruit and plant extracts. I really wish carmine would be eliminated. There are clearly ways to color foods red without it.
